Child Heart Trust Bangladesh

About Us

About CHTB

A child’s first cry announces the triumph of life on earth— just as the very first heartbeat awakens hope for the future. But tragically, out of every one thousand newborns, almost 20 to 25 children are born with congenital heart disease.

Among them, nearly 40% belong to families who cannot afford advanced medical treatment. When an innocent child suffers due to lack of proper treatment, our hearts ache — and that is where responsibility is born. From that sense of responsibility emerged

Child Heart Trust Bangladesh (CHTB) — a voluntary, non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to saving children’s lives.

Our Journey

In 2014, under the inspiring slogan

“Healthy Children, Prosperous Bangladesh,”

Child Heart Trust Bangladesh began its journey.

The visionary behind this noble initiative is Brig. Gen (Rtd.) Prof. Dr. Nurunnahar Fatema Begum, Bangladesh’s pioneer in pediatric cardiology, recipient of national Independence Day award, and a leading expert in pediatric heart disease.

With heartfelt respect, we remember the contribution of National Professor (Late) Dr. M. R. Khan, under whose guidance the foundation was strengthened.

Along with many pediatric heart specialists, doctors, and well-wishers, this organization started working tirelessly to bring treatment within reach of poor and marginalized children.

Our Goals and Purpose

At the core of Child Heart Trust Bangladesh lies a commitment to stand beside every child suffering from heart disease and to help them return to a healthy, dignified life.

Since its inception, we have:

  • Provided financial assistance for pediatric heart treatment
  •          Supported nearly 2,000 children so far through open-heart surgery or interventional procedures
  •         Delivered nutritional food packages for malnourished children
  •          Conducted Ramadan Iftar distributions
  •          Donated winter clothing to vulnerable families
  •          Organized awareness and prevention programs on congenital heart disease across different districts

Our Current Activities

CHTB is currently planning to establish a children’s specialized service center where low-income patients can receive essential treatment, medical advice, and diagnostic services at low cost.

Doctors and volunteers work hand in hand, believing that each effort carries the light of hope for every child’s life.

Our Dream

Our dream is to build a complete one-stop Child Heart Trust Hospital, where children born with congenital heart disease can receive affordable diagnosis, medication, surgery, and advanced interventional treatment.

A hospital where treatment is not a privilege — but a right for every child.
